Upper Hunter Shire Mayor Maurice Collison has been asked to explain how the council got the financial forecast for the Scone Saleyards so wrong.
Council paperwork shows the saleyards have lost ratepayers half a million dollars a year for the past three years.
Independent Councillor Elizabeth Flaherty said this is a big difference from what was forecast by the Mayor and local residents deserve an explanation.
