Merriwa’s Walmsley wins UK title

Merriwa is on the international sporting map.

Local lad Lachlan Walmsley is part of the Halifax Panthers team who has won the 1895 Cup at Wembley Stadium in the UK second-tier competition.

The Panthers beat the Batley Bulldogs 12-10 with the Group 21 junior playing on the wing.
