A former world champion blind player has won the first day of play at the Veteran Women Golfers Association of New South Wales event in Muswellbrook.
Michelle Watts uses very large objects, which she can barely see, or tips from her playing partner or caddy to determine where to hit the ball.
She and her playing partner Hannah Thorley were the talk of the clubhouse after blitzing the Muswellbrook Gold Club course.

Michelle said teamwork was the key to the win.
“
