It’s the first day of Spring and the start of the official bushfire season for our region.
Singleton, Muswellbrook, Upper Hunter, and Liverpool Plains Shires are all in the official bushfire danger period until the end of March next year.
RFS Hunter Valley Operations Officer Rob Carraro said it’s already very dry in some areas with Summer still three months away.

“Especially from Muswellbrook to Denman and Merriwa is very dry,” he said.
