A flyer is being distributed across the Upper Hunter Shire calling on residents to sign a petition against the Council.
The e-petition started by local resident Patricia Taylor on the State Parliament website, calls on the Local Government Minister to consider allegations of mismanagement relating to the shire’s financials.
500 signatures are required to force the Minister to respond to the petition. There are currently 440 signatures with just under three weeks until it closes.
Councillor Elizabeth Flaherty, who is currently on leave, said all residents will receive more information about the petition in the post over the next few days.
