The Nurses and Midwives Association says their calls for improved security at Muswellbrook Hospital following a recent arson event have amounted to nothing so far.
Nurses have told the Hunter Valley Newsroom they fear for their safety following the car fires in a hospital car parking area, especially night shift.
Police are still investigating who may be responsible.
The incident follows several others over the past 18 months, where a number of staff vehicles had their fuel or transmission fluid lines cut on separate occasions.
The union’s Muswellbrook Branch delegate Peggy Smith said they have been told by local management they’re seeking quotes.
“Quotes are one thing. Getting the money and putting into action is another thing.”
