The latest hurdle to extend the life of a Muswellbrook coal mine has been jumped over.
The Federal Court has rejected a case by a local environment group to reverse approval for MACH Energy to keep pulling coal at Mount Pleasant till 2048.
Under the modification, the area of the mine would also be substantially increased.
