Hundreds of buildings across the Upper Hunter remain without power this morning following a blackout, which started just after 2:30 yesterday afternoon.
Thousands of homes and businesses were hit by the massive blackout from Branxton through to Scone and Merriwa.
A “transformer fault” at the Muswellbrook substation is being blamed for the outage.

According to the Ausgrid website Singleton, the Heights, Broke, Denman, Aberdeen, Sedgengoe, Gundy, and Merriwa are among the areas still impacted.
There is no estimated time for the power to come back on at this stage.
