It has taken over three years but workers are finally on the ground to rebuild the collapsed section of the road between Merriwa and Willow Tree.
MR358 has been closed to all traffic since the previous repair job by Upper Hunter Shire Council gave way.
Council GM Greg McDonald said the 50-million-dollar project will take around 18 months to complete.
