A man who fled a Branxton Chinese restaurant shoeless after going back with a loaded shotgun to complain about his order has been jailed.
David Brian Shinner was upset at the quality of his take-away sweet and sour pork from 28 Chinese in October 2022 describing it as “rock hard” and “burnt.”
He told police after his arrest he wanted a decent meal. He said he paid all that money and got crap.
Newcastle Local Court heard the 61-year-old went back with the gun to demand a replacement.
The owner snatched the gun away from Shinner when it was dropped on the table.
He was sentenced to three and a half years behind bars with a non-parole period of two years and one month.
The restaurant has since closed down.
