Ark Energy has dismissed a call to have to pay a de-commissioning bond before they establish a large-scale wind farm here in the Upper Hunter.
The company has approval to set up the half-a-billion dollar Bowman’s Creek Wind Farm despite objections from many local residents.
The company’s Martin Poole said the Muswellbrook Shire Council’s request for a bond is not required as their legal obligations are already built into their contracts with landowners where the wind turbines will sit.
