Upper Hunter Shire Council has ‘caved-in’ to a Sydney couple pushing to establish a private helipad on their part-time Merriwa property.
The Council originally sided with locals objecting to the D-A for number 4 King George the Fifth Avenue.
But John and Izabella McFadden took the case to the Land and Environment Court.

The court yesterday dismissed the action after both parties agreed to amended conditions including additional noise and dust mitigation measures.
They’ll be permitted to take off and land a total of seven times a week under the deal.
