There are hopes for a big reduction in the number of serious prangs at a major Upper Hunter intersection.
The State Government has officially opened the new flyover upgrade project between the Golden and the New England Highways at Belford, south of Singleton.
Some minor tasks will be completed early in the New Year such as additional line marking.

Regional Transport and Roads Minister Jenny Aitchison said so far the feedback from motorists has been positive.
