A Hunter Valley man has been sentenced to seven years in jail after his arrest on child abuse related offences.
The 52-year-old paid for and solicited child abuse material from a minor in the Philippines.
He was arrested after Australian Border Force officers found child abuse material on his mobile phone during a baggage inspection at Sydney Airport in April last year.

Police then executed a search warrant at the man’s Hunter Valley home, where they found child abuse material on another mobile phone.
He’ll be eligible for parole after serving four years and three months.
