Out-of-control fire southwest of Singleton

At least 18 hectares have been burned out so far in a bushfire in Howes Valley, south of Singleton.

The RFS said the blaze on Commission Road is not yet under control but does not pose any threat at this time. The current alert level for the incident is ADVICE.

Fire crews undertook some tactical backburning late yesterday in an effort to keep the fire to the eastern side of the Commission Road.

Firefighters will return today with the help of aircraft and heavy machinery.
