Upper Hunter Shire Council has reportedly received the results of radiation testing in the water supply at Merriwa and Cassalis.
The Newcastle Herald reports the council received “draft results” from the Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation yesterday but says it is not ready to release the information publicly.
A statement issued by the council in part says “Council is working closely with key stakeholders to review these results and will provide an update to the community soon.”

The water remains safe to consume.
