A WATCH AND ACT alert has been issued for the Barton Street Fire in Scone.
The Rural Fire Service has confirmed to the Hunter Valley Newsroom that flames have broken containment lines on the northeast edge of the fire, southwest of Gundy Road and Glen Creek Road.
Fire Crews, aircraft and heavy machinery are working to stop its spread.

The RFS advises residents in the vicinity of Gundy Rd and Glen Creek Rd to Prepare Now.
