The upcoming Bethesda title “Indiana Jones and the Great Circle” is highly anticipated. Part of the reason is that it looks like a great game, but another part especially for Xbox owners that it looked like they were finally getting some impressive AAA exclusive releases. “Exclusives” are usually tied down to one type of console, for example. PlayStation have exclusives like “The Last of Us”, “Uncharted”, “Marvels Spider-man” and more, while Microsofts Xbox has “Halo” and “Gears of War”.
It seemed for some time that this new Indiana Jones game would be a jewel in the crown for Microsoft Exclusivity and with the company is targeting a December release for the game, a great Christmas release on both Xbox and PC.
However, it’s being reported that Bethesda could be considering bringing the title to PS5 a couple of months later, making it less “Exclusive” and more “Timed Exclusive” allowing access to Xbox first before later releasing to other systems.
This also seems to be part of a new multi-platform approach reportedly emerging inside Microsoft as they consider which titles will remain exclusive and which will appear elsewhere. It’s this rumored planned approach that will see the likes of “Sea of Thieves” and “Hi-Fi Rush” to go cross-platform soon. But the big rumor is that “Starfield” may do the same following the release of an expansion pack.
More will be revealed in the coming days as Microsoft prepare to deliver the news themselves. If these reports turn out to be true, how long will it be before we see Xbox Game Pass available on a PS5? Surely not?
